A Healing Journey to Mystical Peru
April 24 - May 2, 2012

Followed by Optional Extension Tour to
The Sacred Temples and Sites of Cusco & Magical Lake Titicaca
(Including more intensive seminar time with Patricia Price)
May 1 - May 8, 2012
Experts believe that Peru is one of the greatest of all power places in the world. You'll feel it and experience it in ways you'll never forget. This is the fabled mystic land of the ancient Incas, the "Children of the Sun." The Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu, the Legendary "Lost City of the Incas."

This special journey and seminar takes place at two spectacular sites, the Incan Sacred Valley of Urubamba and majestic Machu Picchu. The Urubamba Valley, where the seminar begins at a beautiful resort hotel, is nestled below the high Andean peaks and invites you into its tranquil and soothing surroundings. With the nourishing waters of the Urubamba River sweeping through on the way to mist-enshrouded Machu Picchu, it is no wonder that the ancient Incans made this valley their home.

In your free time, enjoy the walk into the local village for some wonderful breathtaking scenery and visiting with the friendly, shy and open hearted local villagers. There will also be time to hike up into the hills to see the Incan terraces still being used and the majestic mountains. Truly, the “Apus” (the Incan name for the spirits who live in the mountains) continue to bless this place of peace and inner nourishment.

The seminar continues at the legendary golden city of Machu Picchu, ingeniously located on a narrow saddle of nearly inaccessible mountains in the heart of a semi-tropical forest. It is vertically invisible from the valley floor below and stayed hidden, a closely guarded secret for over four hundred years, until its discovery by Hiram Bingham in 1911. This ancient ceremonial center consists of more than two hundred buildings, including numerous temples and altars constructed in terraces and connected by stairways carved from solid rock, set in a spectacular setting within a 360-degree ring of mountain peaks. The Spaniards never found this "Holy City" of the Incas and the energy at this sacred site remains very powerful even today.

Be Inspired at Amazing Machu Picchu

April 24: Depart for Lima, Peru. (Those from the West Coast can fly directly from Los Angeles. Flights from other places in North America connect with either the flight from Miami or the flight from Los Angeles. Please inquire for details.)
    Urubamba Valley

April 25: Morning flight from Lima to Cusco and then drive to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, with high peaks of the Andes surrounding it. The Incas' belief was that the gods lived in these mountains. Orientation and meditation in the late afternoon. Take the rest of the day to relax, acclimate, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

April 26: Seminar time. There is also time to enjoy the peaceful, nourishing energy of the Sacred Valley. Later a Peruvian Shaman, who will do an ancient Incan ceremony and welcome blessing with the group, will join you.
    Ollantaytambo

April 27: Visit the ancient Incan town of Ollantaytambo. This important site is situated at the end of the sacred valley in the midst of spectacular mountains, and we will take a while to savor their inner power and majesty. Ollantaytambo is most famous for six enormous stones, so huge that some say only magical powers could have moved them there. Later in the day there will be time for shopping in the colorful shops and Town Square of present-day Ollantaytambo, which adjoins the ruins of the ancient city. Next, travel to the ancient Incan village of Chincero, where the terraced farmlands of the Incas are still visible. Chincero was the main population center for the entire Sacred Valley in Incan times.
    Machu Picchu

April 28: Seminar time. Later today, for those who wish, hike up into the hills to see the majestic mountains and the ancient Incan terraces still being used to this day. Truly, the Apus continues to bless this place of inner peace and nourishment.

April 29: Today board the first class tourist train for mystical Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. It was here that the Incas succeeded in combining the wonders of civilization with those of nature. The sheer beauty of what is considered by some the most dramatic place in the world overwhelms you as you are immediately drawn into its "still alive" mysteries. After an extensive guided tour with your metaphysically oriented guide, you have free time to explore and meditate.

April 30: This morning visit Machu Picchu early to experience sunrise over the magnificent ruins. Experience a special meditation and ceremony. Morning and mid-day free time around Machu Picchu. This afternoon, if you would like to, you may go to the  nearby local, rustic hot springs at Aguas Calientes or bathe in the wonderful Vileanota River, fed by pure mountain springs. Travel back to the Sacred Valley in the late afternoon where you overnight. (Those on the optional extension, including more seminar time, see optional extension itinerary.)

May 1: Morning drive to Cusco and then fly from Cusco to Lima. Free time in Lima for sightseeing and shopping. Those taking the optional extra week, please see the separate extension itinerary.

May 2: The current flight schedule has the Miami group arriving home in the U.S. today. (West Coast passengers depart very early morning and arrive in LAX the same morning.)

    Note: Itinerary subject to change.

    An Optional Extension Tour
to The Sacred Temples and Sites of Cusco & Magical Lake Titicaca!
    (Including More Intensive Seminar Time)
    May 1 – May 8, 2012
(Following “A Healing Journey to Mystical Peru” Tour)

    Itinerary

Experience the Jubilant Inti Raymi Festival Celebration

(April 30: Enjoy extra time in Machu Picchu after the main program-only group departs.)

May 1: Free day at Machu Picchu. Today, if you like, you may soak in the nearby very rustic, local hot springs at Aguas Caliente. Late afternoon return to your resort in the Sacred Valley.
    Pisac

May 2: Drive to Cuzco, elevation 11,400 feet, Holy City and center of the ancient Incan civilization. On the way visit the ruins of ancient Pisac. Ruins of a superb Incan center high on the mountainside. Pisac covers an entire mountain and is located in a spectacular surrealistic mountain setting with a variegated green carpet of intact Incan terraces flowing up to the peaks. The temples here blend perfectly with their environment. The most sacred temple contains the famous "Intihuatana" stone, or "Hitching Post of the Sun." This is speculated to have been a solar clock and astronomical and astrological calendar as well as a prayer site. Also today enjoy the colorful native market here. Seminar time.*

May 3: Seminar time. Explore the sacred sites around Cuzco today. Cuzco is the oldest inhabited city in the Western hemisphere. When the Spaniards arrived here the beauty of its edifices, surpassing all they had yet seen in the New World, astonished them. Gold in the form of intricate religious symbols and artifacts were seen everywhere. Our stay in Cuzco is centrally located, making it easy to enjoy this wonderful town where ancient, original Incan walls and cobblestone streets blend with colonial Spanish architecture. Today you will experience the immense stone ruins of Sachsayhuaman Temple. The cyclopean stones of this temple fit so closely together that one cannot wedge a knife between them. Also visit the very powerful purifying baths of Tambomachay, and the Temple of Kenko dedicated to the Earth Mother and the four elements.
    Coricancha

May 4: Seminar time. Also today a walking tour to visit the Coricancha, the "enclosure of gold." Its perfect architecture and stonework reflect the fact that it was the most important, most sacred temple in the entire Incan realm, the sacred hub of the mystical Incan Empire. The essence and feeling of what was the heart of this land is not to be missed. Its Altar of the Sun, the holy of holies of the ancient Incas, still remains.
    Lake Titicaca

May 5: Today board your first class tourist train to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Incan legend tells us that children of the Sun, Manco Capac and Mama Ocollo, emerged in a shower of spray from the deep waters of Lake Titicaca to found the Incan Empire in Cuzco, where Manco Capac's golden staff sank into the ground. Anyone fortunate enough to look upon Lake Titicaca today cannot help but feel the same sense of awe that the ancient Incan peoples had when viewing their sacred lake, their spiritual birthplace. With lofty-snow covered peaks rising above distant shores, the vast blue lake at 12,400 feet elevation presents one of the most breathtaking panoramas of the Andes. The 3,000 square mile lake is located in the "altiplano" which extends for hundreds of miles across Peru and Bolivia. On the grassy plains graze herds of llamas and alpacas, whose fine wool is woven into clothing and sold in the markets of Cuzco and all over the Andes.

May 6: Board a boat to cruise on spectacular Lake Titicaca. Go to the floating reed islands of the Uros Indians, who created these man-made islands centuries ago to live on in order to escape the warfare throughout the area. You will enjoy the exhilarating feeling that emanates from this sacred lake. A soothing and nurturing sense envelops people here, which is a wonderful way to end this part of your spiritual odyssey. Seminar time.

May 7: Fly to Lima. Free time for last minute shopping and sightseeing.

May 8: Today, take an early morning flight from Lima for your return to the U.S., arriving morning local time.
